While there was a ton of speculation on the pricing for the device leading up to the event, we now have all the information solidified by the team.

ASUS ROG Ally Release Date

The ROG Ally officially releases on June 13, 2023, with two versions, both of which will be available at Best Buy. Pre-orders for the device opened on May 11 on Best Buy’s website.

The handheld will also come with 3 free months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate — around a $45 value.

There are two versions of the ROG Ally, one that has an AMD Ryzen Z1 processor up to 2.8TFlops and a premium model with an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme up to 8.6 TFlops.

The prices for both are:

  • AMD Ryzen Z1: $599.99

This pricing puts the base model of the Ryzen Z1 just below the premier Steam Deck, which typically costs around $649, and significantly more pricey than the Nintendo Switch — the base model of which runs around $294 at the time of writing.

In addition to being compatible and upgradeable via the ROG XG Mobile, the ROG Ally looks to be the performance model that serious gamers can use on the go.

While the handheld is more pricey than its competitors, the premium hardware and flexibility of the device may make it a serious player in the space.
