PlayStation VR2 owners will now receive what used to be a Japanese and European-only experience with the launch of C-Smash VRS, the spiritual successor to Cosmic Smash.
If you’re looking for new and fresh titles to play on your brand-new PlayStation VR2, you’ll soon get your chance via a new demo for C-Smash VRS, which you can download starting on March 23, 2023. While an official release date for the full game has yet to be set, this is a nostalgic memory for many European and Japanese Dreamcast owners.
The original in which the new VR game is based, was a puzzle game where players would play on a cosmic racquetball court and hit a ball against different colored squares for bonuses. Throughout the game, the court would change, offering different challenges to the player in a surreal space atmosphere and haunting AI announcer pushing you along the way.
In the new game, there will be a single player, versus, and co-op modes with original tracks from DJ Ken Ishii (Rez Infinite) and Danalogue (The Comet is Coming, Soccer 96). Developed by Wolf & Wood, the game is the perfect title to take to VR, and we’re really curious to see how US audiences will receive it.
