Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis Closed Beta Announced in Latest Gameplay Trailer

The FFVII: Ever Crisis Winter 2022 Trailer showcases new gameplay and a Closed Beta Test announcement.

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis debuted a new Winter 2022 trailer on the Square Enix YouTube channel today, and the closing scene confirmed a Closed Beta Test is coming in Summer 2023. The upcoming free-to-play mobile RPG game for iOS and Android is developed by Applibot and published by Square Enix.

A Closed Beta test was initially scheduled to launch in 2022, but Square Enix later adjusted this to date to Summer 2023. The gameplay trailer, embedded below, showcases some gameplay that players can expect in the worldwide release. Players also get a more in-depth look at Young Sephiroth, as well as the mobile menu and UI, which, for now, feature Main, Allies, Equipment, Party, and Draws tabs.

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis retells the events from the 1997 Final Fantasy VII game, as well as the canon in Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, including Before Crisis, Crisis Core, and Dirge of Cerberus. The story is split into chapters, with each section containing multiple episodes to play through. Each episode appears to have a required character in the party.

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is a free-to-play mobile game for iOS and Android and will feature in-game purchases in the form of loot boxes (or something of the like). There is no set release date at the time of writing, but Closed Beta Testing is confirmed for Summer 2023.
