How to Open Briefcase in Shadows of Doubt

If you’ve just started your first game in Shadows of Doubt and have no idea how to unlock the suitcase with the evidence, we have your solution in this quick guide.

No one said being an investigator would be easy. In Shadows of Doubt, players must unlock a suitcase to get information on their target. However — how to do so isn’t so straightforward, even though the game tells you how to do it. Here’s exactly how to open a briefcase in Shadows of Doubt.

How to Open Briefcase in Shadows of Doubt

To open a briefcase, pick it up to place it in your inventory, then open your inventory with the X key (D-pad up) and select the briefcase to take it out. Finally, left-click (A/X) to open it up and read the contents.

Before you place the briefcase in your inventory, you’ll need to make sure that you have one extra slot available.

You may be confused here and ask yourself, “How do I take out the contents of the briefcase?” Well, there is no way — once you open the briefcase, all evidence inside it will now appear inside pinned on your case board when you open it up. You can throw the briefcase away after you’ve got the evidence since it will take up an extra slot in your inventory.

Don’t worry if you were confused at first; we were too. There will often be very little evidence on your target, so you may not realize that your case has already started.

From here, look at the profile, even if you have limited information, to start unraveling clues in the case. Usually, there will be at least a few details that you can go off of to start solving it and earn your money.
