If you’ve just completed the tutorial portion of Shadows of Doubt and have no idea what to do next, you’ll need to get new cases to start a new investigation.
In Shadows of Doubt, players assume the role of a private investigator that must solve cases for the right price. While the game’s tutorial section automatically assigns you a case, you’ll need to find new work yourself once you’re done. Here’s how to get new investigations or cases in Shadows of Doubt.
How to Get New Investigations in Shadows of Doubt
To get new investigations in the game, visit City Hall or one of the businesses and go up to the payphone and right-click (X/Square on controller) on a Job Listing on the bulletin board. These listings will have directions that you must follow to get the initial evidence required to start your investigation.
Each case will have a different value as a reward for solving it, which can be viewed at the bottom of the note. Cases that provide more money will typically be tougher to solve, with just a few clues available. When first starting, select cases with a lower payout to increase your Social Score, making investigating new cases easier.
While some cases will automatically load evidence into your case board, others will require you to speak to the employees at the business or will provide a phone number you can call for a briefcase location.
Once you know the briefcase location, you’ll need to open the briefcase, and the evidence will automatically be loaded into your case board.
