In Shadows of Doubt, snooping around without permission can get you in serious trouble. Here’s how you can get a Guest Pass so you can investigate in peace.
Undoubtedly, the procedurally generated detective game, Shadows of Doubt is tough to get used to. One of the hardest parts of the game is being able to investigate restricted areas without getting chased away by the game’s NPCs. Luckily, the Guest Pass mechanic lets players snoop without raising suspicion. Here’s how to get one.
How to Get a Guest Pass in Shadows of Doubt
To get a Guest Pass in Shadows of Doubt, players need to speak to an employee of a business or an apartment owner and ask to look around. Then, select the option again to pay money to obtain the Guest Pass.
For businesses, this option will appear as “Health inspector. I need to survey your premises.” Then the option for “Here’s the money for the guest pass” will appear. The fee for the pass is ¢r30.
Sometimes, if it’s an apartment, the resident will give you a Guest Pass for free if you have high social credit or they have a higher level of trust. Usually, however, you’ll need to pay a fee. For apartments, this fee can be ¢r50 or ¢r100.
Sometimes, the resident won’t ever provide a guest pass. In these cases, breaking in using lockpicks while they are sleeping or using the vents to get into their apartment while they are away is probably your best bet.
Remember, just because you have a Guest Pass doesn’t make you immune to the laws. If you steal or have questionable behavior, it won’t stop the employees or residents of the apartment from chasing you.
