The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Game Trailer

The intro opens up with the iconic line, “A Game Based On True Events,” before displaying the legendary Leatherface with his chainsaw. The one-and-a-half-minute trailer showcases some of the gory gameplay, including some of the chase and hiding mechanics.

Players also get a glimpse into the rest of the Slaughter Family, the sick-and-twisted playable characters that gamers can get their hands on when the game officially releases on August 18.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Gameplay Details

Much like Dead by Daylight, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre pits four hapless victims against the Slaughter Family — the depraved and psychotic family from the iconic movie series. Unlike DbD, however, the victims in this game will go up against a team of three.

Each family member has different buffs and attributes that make them more powerful and unique. For instance, The Cook can add additional locks on doors and close crawl spaces, making maps tighter, more claustrophobic, and harder to run out of.

Or, if you prefer — you can play as the iconic Leatherface and chase down the survivors with your chainsaw while ripping through barricades and doors.

Victims, on the other hand, also have their own abilities and personalities. Players can choose from five major stat categories, including toughness, endurance, strength, proficiency, and stealth, with a base value for each attribute. As the game goes on, players can invest points into different skills, enabling them to further spec into a specific playstyle.

The game has 5 confirmed family members and a plethora of victims, giving players plenty of variety.
