What’s New in Warzone 2
Warzone 2.0 will introduce some significant changes to the Call of Duty battle royale. The most notable changes are a new map called Al Mazrah, new areas called Strongholds with AI enemies, the removal of loadout drops, an extraction mode, and a new gulag experience.
You’ll encounter more than just enemy players in Al Mazrah. Strongholds are points of interest that feature fortified bases and a high density of AI-controlled enemies. Overpower the Stronghold, and you’ll receive some pretty epic loot, “including an item that allows you to purchase one of your customized Gunsmith weapons at The Shop for free.”
Warzone 2.0 will also introduce an extraction mode called DMZ. Infinity Ward has not unveiled too many details about it, but according to the developers, ” this is a passion project for the teams at Infinity Ward and across the contributing studios, and the main premise is about choosing your own experience within the warzone, working socially if you wish, and collecting gear to keep in your Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 inventory and utilize from match to match.”
The RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system will also be making its way to Modern Warfare II and Warzone, as confirmed in an official blog post. As a kernel-level anti-cheat, RICOCHET Anti-Cheat should drastically cut down on cheaters.
Warzone 2 will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
