Keep reading for everything you would want to know about the game, including the Aliens: Dark Descent release date, gameplay trailer, and story.

Aliens: Dark Descent Release Date

Players will be able to delve into real-time tactical action starting this summer. The highly-anticipated Aliens: Dark Descent will release on June 20, 2023, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox X/S.

Aliens: Dark Descent Gameplay Trailer

The two-minute gameplay trailer showcases the top-down real-time combat in the game. While the interface looks very like Xcom, Dark Descent is not a turn-based game, as all the action happens in real-time.

Also, you’ll control a full squadron of space marines, each of which you can customize and upgrade as you play through the game’s missions. Using dark, H.R. Giger-like settings makes this feel like it fits right into the Alien universe.

Aliens: Dark Descent Story

Aliens: Dark Descent is set 20 years after the events of Alien 3. You play as a squad of space marines that have crash-landed on a distant planet and must investigate an eerily vacant military base.

Players assume the role of a commander controlling a squad of four battle-hardened space marines. While not directly tied into the movie franchise, you can think of Dark Descent more as a side quest to the movie canon.

Aliens: Dark Descent is on the Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox stores.
