Capcom to Launch Virtual Town for 40th Birthday

Capcom, creators of iconic franchises like Street Fighter, will launch a virtual town dubbed Capcom Town to celebrate its 40th-year anniversary.

June 11, 1983, is the year that Capcom, the iconic Japanese gaming studio, was founded. For nearly 40 years, the company has developed and launched some of the most groundbreaking foundational video game titles of all time, and this year, they are celebrating by releasing a digital city that fans can visit to play retro titles and view development documents for their popular games.

In essence, what has been dubbed as Capcom Town will be like a virtual museum that players can visit in their web browser to view original artwork, dev notes, and a gaming corner with retro titles like Mega Man and Street Fighter II. Officially launching on June 11, 2023, players can visit a teaser for the website on the official Capcom site

In addition to the launch of Capcom Town, the company also plans on holding a series of global anniversary activities that we’ll have to wait till June to see.
