Cities Skylines 2 Announcement Trailer and Everything We Know So Far

The sequel looks more in-depth than ever.

Cities Skylines 2, the sequel to one of the best-selling settlement management/city-builder games ever, will release in 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox X|S.

The original Cities Skylines, originally released in 2015, is cited by many in the city-builder community as one of the best examples of a modern-day city builder. With deep planning and zoning mechanics accompanied by pretty decent graphics for the time, Cities Skylines injected a bit of fun into the genre.

“Your chance to create the future, to create and inspire. Expand way up high and bring life to your creations.”

What is Different in City Skylines 2?

The game’s developers have had over 7 years to improve upon the original game, though — many things that were innovative in the original will persist in the latest sequel. For one, the game will largely center around planning and zoning as your city automatically evolves and reacts based on your decisions. A successful city means properly planning commerce, commercial districts, entertainment areas, and residential zones.

Developed by Colossal Order Ltd. and published by Paradox Interactive, City Skylines 2 will boast new and upgraded graphics that will help immerse players in the world they are creating. You can learn more about the game on the Cities Skylines 2 website or wishlist the game on Steam

Little else is known about the game thus far, but we’re sure that the game’s creators will update the community soon. We’ll be following this story in our News Section
