Cyberpunk Graphic Novel Nominated for Hugo Award

Cyberpunk 2077: Big City Dreams, written by Bartosz Sztybor of CDPR, has been nominated for Best Graphic Story/Comic.

From their slow-burner hit game to the highly-popular Netflix series, it seems like the creatives in charge of the Cyberpunk universe can’t do anything wrong. If you weren’t already aware, in addition to the aforementioned types of media, Cyberpunk has a huge stable of written works in the form of graphic novels, including one just nominated for an illustrious Hugo Award.

Cyberpunk 2077: Big City Dreams released on February 8, 2022. The graphic novel details the life of two cyberpunks, Tasha and Mirek, as they seek happiness in Night City. The book was written by Bartosz Sztybor, CD Projekt RED’s writer and narrative manager. Filipe Andrade and Alessio Fioriniello, two well-respected artists in the industry, did the artwork.

The Hugo Awards, the annual awards ceremony organized by the World Science Fiction Society since 1953, recognizes the best science fiction and fantasy literature the world has to offer. Widely recognized as one of the most prestigious honors in literary science fiction/fantasy, it’s quite an accomplishment for a franchise that didn’t have the most stellar start due to software issues.

Indeed, it seems like the Cyberpunk world building and universe is really what’s got fans hooked, regardless of whether you like watching the show, playing the games, or reading graphic novels.
