Halloween is a big deal to Canadian developer Behaviour. With Dead By Daylight’s massive roster, including big names such as Michael Myers and Freddy Krueger, it makes sense to bank on the spookiest time of year. We’re seeing that strategy bear fruit this October as players receive sweeping balance changes and a tournament announcement. With a Halloween Event still on the way, it’s a busy time for the survival horror staple. Here’s what was in the Dead By Daylight 6.3.0 update and the new Community Cups tournaments.
What is in the Dead By Daylight 6.3.0 Patch Update?
Quality of Life changes, bug fixes, and flashlight changes are all included in today’s patch. The Archives are getting more user-friendly, with multiple challenge slots allowing players to easily switch between Survivor and Killer tasks.
Also, no more “click and hold” to activate and claim challenge nodes. The newer options, including colorblind mode and anonymous mode, have been given their own sections in the menus for easier access.
With the removal of rapid-fire flashlights, photosensitive players can now enjoy the game with fewer worries about the blinding mechanic. No more binding it to the scroll wheel to create a ruckus. And, for any Hag players, the sigil-setting ambush Killer has new music to enjoy.

What is the New Dead by Daylight Community Cups?
In addition to the updates in the 6.3.0 update, Behavior announced a new tournament system, Community Cups.
Teams consist of full, 4-man Survivor teams and 1 Killer player. Advancement depends on the number of escaped Survivors in the Trials, with each team’s Killer player working as the “defense.” The first event will take place on November 4, 2022.
There will be new tournaments each month, divided by region. Winners will earn both cash and in-game currency that can be used on cosmetics, new characters, and unlocking perks in the Shrine of Secrets.
The Dead by Daylight Community Cup rewards are:
- 324,000 in total Irdescent Shards to the top 8 teams in each region’s monthly tournament.
- $1,000 in total cash prizes will be awarded to the top 4 teams in each region’s monthly tournament, with the winning team taking home $500.
Players can sign up for the first announced tournaments on their official registration page.
