Dead by Daylight Killer Tier List (April 2024)

Not sure which character to choose as Killer? Here's our updated Dead by Daylight Killer tier list.

Behaviour has released their latest Killer stats for Dead by Daylight, prompting a fresh flurry of discussion over “who are the strongest Killers?” With the current Killer cast sitting at 29, it’s not an easy question to answer. That said, we’ve done our best to bring an updated Dead by Daylight Killer tier list.

As a disclaimer, tier lists are always controversial, and there will undoubtedly be some people that disagree with our rankings. However, this DbD Killer tier list is based on win rate and effectiveness. Dead by Daylight is a long-running title, and every Chapter Update brings new characters and perks along with balance changes.

Dead by Daylight Killer Tier List Breakdown

Below, we’ve highlighted the skills and abilities that went into the creation of our Dead by Daylight Killer tier list.

S-Tier Killers

  • The Nurse
  • The Blight
  • The Mastermind

Mobility is key, and these Killers have it in spades. Wesker’s Virulent Bound is less versatile, but the secondary mechanic of Uroboros infection gives him passive slowdown the others can’t boast. The Nurse has a low global kill rate, but that’s only due to a high skill floor.

A-Tier Killers

  • The Huntress
  • The Artist
  • The Cannibal
  • The Dredge
  • The Twins

The Huntress, The Artist, and The Cannibal have powerful special attacks, and that’s all they need. The Dredge has a kit full of tools for different situations. The Twins can spread pressure and snowball easily, thanks to their dual-character nature.

B-Tier Killers

  • The Hag
  • The Hillbilly
  • The Wraith
  • The Spirit
  • The Nemesis
  • The Cenobite
  • The Executioner
  • The Plague
  • The Demogorgon
  • The Oni

These Killers all have one thing in common: a way to close the gap. The longer a Killer chases, the more generators get repaired. Most of the slowdown in this game needs downs or hooks to trigger, so Killers that excel at this win twice. Some have extra mechanics that help too.

C-Tier Killers

  • The Shape
  • The Doctor
  • The Nightmare
  • The Ghost Face
  • The Pig
  • The Deathslinger

This is where Killers begin to struggle. They all have one or two positives to their kit, like The Pig’s Reverse Bear Traps or The Shape & The Ghost Face’s 1-hit down attacks. Most are Killers who were nerfed or just left behind as the game evolved.

D-Tier Killers

  • The Trapper
  • The Legion
  • The Clown
  • The Onryo
  • The Trickster

The Trapper suffers due to his set-up time. That and the traps are both obvious and vulnerable to Survivors. Without them, he has no advantages over any other Killer. The Clown’s bottles and the Trickster’s knives are only “okay” in a chase, and that’s all they have. The remaining Killers have their special mechanics, but they’re not enough to get consistent downs on Survivors.
