The Diablo 2 Resurrected PTR 2.5 came to an end on September 19, and players are now anticipating the next season. There are some exciting changes on the horizon, and it feels like a good time to be a classic ARPG player. Here’s a look at the Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Season 2 start times by region.
Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Season 2 Start Time
The Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 2 Ladder begins on October 6 at 5 p.m. PT.
Regional times are as follows:
- North America: October 6 at 5 p.m. PT
- Europe: October 7 at 2 a.m. CEST
- Asia: October 7 at 9 a.m. KST
Blizzard confirmed the D2R Season 2 Ladder start date on their website.
For reference, the Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 1 Ladder started on April 28, 2022. That means the first D2R Ladder Season was just over five months long.
The season length is roughly in line with comments from Robert Gallerani, principal designer for Diablo 2. During a livestream with MrLlamaSC, Gallerani said they are aiming for four-month Season Ladder cycles.
Looking back at Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Season 1, Wowhead did a nice recap on class distributions. These stats are from mid-June, about two months into Ladder Season 1.
- Sorceress: 35%
- Paladin: 26%
- Amazon: 11%
- Barbarian: 9%
- Necromancer: 8%
- Druid: 7%
- Assassin: 5%
It’s interesting but not surprising that Assassin and Druid classes are played by about 12% of players, while Sorceress and Paladin occupy over half. Of course, Ladder players don’t need the data to conclude this, as it’s obvious whenever they play.
What’s New in the Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 2 Ladder
Some new changes are coming to Diablo 2 Resurrected in the upcoming patch. Players have Terror Zones and Sundered Charms to look forward to, which will make the journey through Hell difficulty to level 99 a lot more interesting, to say the least.
Sundered Charms are very interesting, allowing players to break monster immunities, which could, in theory, make nearly any build capable of farming all Hell content. Seeing how monster immunities are a big turn-off for many players, almost forcing a meta class build, it’s nice to see the change.
“To promote increased class build diversity, we are introducing six new Unique Grand Charms that allow the player to break specific monster immunity types while the charm is in their inventory.”
Diablo II: Resurrected is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
