How to Socket Items in Diablo 2 Resurrected

Going after a powerful Runeword but don't have the sockets for it? Here's how to socket items in Diablo 2 Resurrected.

Are you trying to create that powerful Runeword but need an item with enough sockets? Well, you’re in luck because this beginner’s guide will show you how to socket items in Diablo 2 Resurrected. There are two ways to socket gear, and we’ll show you how to do both.

How to Socket Items in Diablo 2 Resurrected

To add sockets to items in Diablo Immortal, you can use the Horadric Cube recipe or complete the Larzuk quest in Act V.

Diablo 2 Resurrected Horadric Cube Socket Recipes

  • Body armor socket recipe: Tal Rune, Thul Rune, Perfect Topaz
  • Weapon socket recipe: Ral Rune, Amn Rune, Perfect Amethyst
  • Helm socket recipe: Ral Rune, Thul Rune, Perfect Sapphire
  • Shield socket recipe: Tal Rune, Amn Rune, Perfect Ruby

Put the corresponding runes and gem in the Horadric Cube along with a normal (non-magic) item, and hit Transmute to socket the item. The recipe will randomly give you some sockets (based on RNG) in the item.

For example, use a white Razor Bow, Ral Rune, Amn Rune, and Perfect Amethyst to create sockets in the bow. Another example would be to use a white Monarch Shield, Tal Rune, Amn Rune, and Perfect Ruby.

The item level determines the maximum number of sockets. You will get items with the highest item level in endgame Hell difficulty.

Completing the Larzuk quest for sockets

Larzuk is an NPC in Act V with a quest called Siege on Harrogath. Finishing the quest rewards you with the ability to socket a single item, and you can complete this once per difficulty: Normal, Nightmare, and Hell.

Larzuk’s socket quest is an excellent way to socket a powerful item that doesn’t naturally have a socket. The number of sockets Larzuk gives you per item varies depending on item rarity and item level. Rare, unique, and set items all get 1 socket, magic items get 1 or 2 sockets, and white or grey items get the maximum number of sockets allowed based on the item’s level.
