Diablo 3: Where to Find Kanai’s Cube

Here's where to find Kanai's Cube in Diablo 3, in case you need a refresher.

Kanai’s Cube is a powerful artifact in Diablo 3 that has the power of transmutation. Like the Horadric cube in Diablo 3’s predecessor, Kanai’s Cube can be used by any hero to convert gems and crafting materials, break down Legendary items, upgrade items, and alter an item’s affixes and requirements.

If you’re new to Diablo 3 or planning on hopping back into the game for a new season after a long hiatus, you may need a refresher on where to find Kanai’s Cube. Luckily, it’s still in the same place it’s always been, and we’ll show you exactly where that is in the guide below.

Diablo 3 Kanai’s Cube Location

Kanai’s Cube is located in the Elder Sanctum area, which can be found in Act 3 at The Ruins of Sescheron waypoint.

Load up a new game in Adventure mode on any difficulty, and then open your map. Navigate to the Act 3 map, and go to The Ruins of Sescheron, the northeast-most waypoint on the map.

From The Ruins of Secheron, you’ll need to look for a portal to another area called the Elder Sanctum. It may take some exploring before you find the entrance to the Elder Sanctum. Everyone’s map layout is different, so we can’t guide you to the exact location, but fully explore the ruins, and you will find the entrance.

Upon entering the Elder Sanctum, you’ll need to look for a room with the altar and Kanai’s Cube. If you’ve gotten to the Immortal Throne area, you’ve gone too far. The room with Kanai’s Cube looks something like this:

Click on Kanai’s Cube to pick it up, and speak with Zoltun Kulle. Now you have Kanai’s Cube, so you can teleport back to town and start using it. Look for the Cube icon on your map.

  • Darkness of Radament: Converts Gems
  • Pleasure of Iben Fahd: Converts Reusable Parts
  • Regrert of Iben Fahd: Converts Arcane Dust
  • Wrath of Iben Fahd: Converts Veiled Crystals

All Kanai’s Cube recipes are viewable by visiting Kanai’s Cube in any town and clicking the Recipes button. You can click the Auto Fill button on each recipe tab to auto-fill all the required materials into the cube.

A good early-game recipe combination is Hope of Cain and Archive of Tal Rasha. Players can upgrade their Blacksmith to Level 12, craft a rare equippable Level 70 weapon, upgrade it to a Legendary, and then extract the Legendary Power from it to aid in the leveling process. Of course, it does rely on some luck, but it’s always worth a shot since you will have the materials for it after completing the Weekly Challenge Rift.
