The latest installment in the Diablo franchise, Diablo 4, is an action RPG fans have been waiting for since its announcement in 2019. Now, the wait is finally over, and players will soon be able to jump into the game and start exploring sanctuary. One of the common questions many players have is whether or not there will be a Diablo 4 offline mode. Here’s everything you need to know regarding offline play.
Can you play Diablo 4 in offline mode?
Diablo 4 is an online-only game, which means there is no offline mode. Players need internet access to play their characters, similar to Diablo 3, the previous installment in the franchise. Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that offline mode will not exist for Diablo 4
Seeing as how not everyone always has access to an internet connection, a Diablo 4 offline mode would be convenient for some players. As such, it’s been a highly requested feature on the Blizzard forums. However, it is unlikely they will ever add such a feature in Diablo 4, especially considering the game is a live-service game with seasonal content and social elements.
There’s always a possibility Blizzard decides to implement some sort of feature to cater to the subset of users who don’t have stable internet, but for now, there seem to be no plans for it. Diablo 4 is playable in single-player mode, though, so that’s something players could do as an alternative to multiplayer.
