If you’ve been wondering about the most-played class in the recently released Diablo IV, we have the answer, according to the game’s head producer.
Diablo IV was just released on June 6, 2023, and players have already loaded into the game and reached the max level of 100. One of the most important aspects of building your character in the game starts with selecting a class. While there are arguments abound in the community on the most powerful class in Diablo IV, the numbers don’t lie when it comes to the most popular class.
In a recent tweet, Rod Fergusson, Lead Producer on Diablo IV, revealed the most popular class in the game.
Pssst!
I didn’t ask for permission to share this but I thought you might be interested to know that right now, the number 1 most played class in #DiabloIV is the Sorcerer/Sorceress!
But you didn’t hear it from me. In case someone from PR or Marketing asks…
So there you go. The head producer of the game just confirmed it. The most popular class in Diablo IV is the Sorceress.
To be fair, it’s not too much of a surprise, as, along with the Barbarian, the Sorcerer/Sorceress has been the only class in all four games in the franchise. At this point, players have become enamored by the class’s superior movement and high-DPS output. This is especially the case since more and more players are reaching the end game and running specific dungeons and events to maximize the quality of the loot they find. For veterans of the franchise, it should come as no surprise that this spellcaster ranks as one of the most popular classes in the entire game, even if it might be surprising that the class is at the top of the heap.
For me, I’m playing the Druid — and believe me, there are times that I wish I could just teleport around and melt things with electricity. Having to walk up to something to smash it in the face and moving as slow as a, well, a bear, hasn’t been as fun, so maybe I’m even regretting my choice. Oh, well, the game is still a blast either way.
