EA Announces F1 23 Launching June 16

Get ready, racing fans!

EA SPORTS and Electronic Arts have officially announced the launch of F1 23, the latest installment of the FIA Formula One World Championship game series. The action hits the tracks on June 16 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through EA App, Epic Games Store, and Steam.

F1 23 returns with the thrilling story mode, Braking Point, featuring all teams, drivers, and circuits for the 2023 season. The game also introduces two eagerly-awaited tracks: Las Vegas Grand Prix and Lusail International Circuit in Qatar. Racing superstar Max Verstappen graces the cover of the digital-exclusive F1 23 Champions Edition.

Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters, shares the excitement for the Braking Point’s return, emphasizing the immersive racing story and enhanced realism in gameplay. The developers have closely collaborated with real F1 teams to achieve improved handling, pad-play, and a visually striking experience.

In Braking Point, players follow the journey of Aiden Jackson and Devon Butler, young drivers joining the Konnersport Racing Team. The story unfolds with new characters, intense rivalries, and thrilling challenges as the duo aims to reach the pinnacle of their racing careers.

F1 23 boasts upgraded handling and vehicle physics, thanks to real-world team feedback. The game now offers more predictable behavior, better traction, and a stronger connection to the car, thanks to engine torque and inertia enhancements. Additionally, Precision Drive controller technology provides pad players with improved control during crucial racing moments.

Other game enhancements include a 35% race distance option, the introduction of red flags, and the inclusion of three legacy circuits: Paul Ricard (France), Shanghai (China), and Portimão (Portugal). The F1 World hub offers an exciting new way to play with multiple game modes, a progression system, and a safety rating system linking online and offline play.

The F1 23 Champions Edition, available exclusively in digital format, offers lots of bonus content, including early access starting on June 13. Meanwhile, the Standard Edition, featuring ambassadors Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, and Lando Norris, launches on June 16 with pre-order bonuses.

F1 23 will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via EA App, Epic Games Store, and Steam.
