Capcom is bringing us a new game with a premise so over-the-top we can’t help but smile. Ancient monsters and the modern world collide in their upcoming title, Exoprimal. Here’s what we know about Exoprimal, including the release announcement date and trailer.
What is the Exoprimal Release Date?
Exoprimal releases on July 14, 2023, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on Steam.
The release date information dropped on the official PlayStation blog on March 9, 2023.
What is Exoprimal?
Developed and published by Capcom, Exoprimal is a team-based 3rd person shooter where the player fights invading dinosaurs with powered armor called exosuits.
They couldn’t have made the title more on-the-nose if they tried, but there’s merit in being clear on what your game is all about, as evidenced by their well-known series Monster Hunter. The exosuits have clear roles in the team based on type, but Capcom has promised players the ability to switch between the different suit types as needed, even while in the field.

The exosuits, futuristic setting, and emphasis on hordes of enemies remind us of Earth Defense Force, albeit with massively improved production values. The main game mode consists of 2 teams of 5 battling against the dinosaurs. The emphasis on speed and PvP is a bold choice, and we’re excited to see how it turns out.
Exoprimal Trailer: A Dinosaur Outbreak Will Soon Occur
Capcom spent some extra time showing off their upcoming enemy roster. Several dinosaur staples are in attendance, with special “Neosaurs” boasting additional abilities you’ll not hear mentioned by any paleontologist.
Flyers that rain fire, rocky dinosaurs that can explode their outer shells to make shrapnel–there are plenty of cool ideas on the table beyond “life from 65 million years ago.” Enemy variety is crucial in a horde battler, and Capcom hasn’t been caught slacking.
