Gord is an upcoming single-player dark fantasy and strategy game from Covenant.dev and Team17 Digital, where players must build and manage a settlement while keeping it safe from the dangers that loom at every turn.
As Gord prepares to make its debut on Steam and consoles this summer, we look ahead at the development. Some of the developers working on the project are the same people that brought us iconic titles like Frostpunk and The Witcher 3. Like those games, Gord promises to immerse players in a universe of terrifying beasts, powerful incantations, and ethical complexity.
As players take on the role of the Tribe of the Dawn, they must lead and protect their community while expanding their settlements, taking on dangerous quests, and battling against both invading tribes and the monsters that roam the land. With a unique Sanity System that tracks citizens’ well-being and an array of offensive and defensive spells at their disposal, players will need to stay vigilant to ensure their town thrives.

The two-and-a-half-minute trailer showcases the gameplay in Gord, including construction and defensive elements that players will get to experience when the game launches this summer.
However — that’s not it, as players are thrust into a Forsaken land filled with monsters and dangers.
With what looks like a pretty complex skill tree and multiple gameplay features and mechanics, Gord looks like it could be a deep strategy game that mixes ARPG and base-building elements together.
