Aviation and history buffs are in store for a treat via indie game developers Blindflug Studios and their upcoming city-builder, Ground of Aces. Set in WWII, the game will task players with constructing a military base with its own infrastructure, defenses, and interpersonal conflicts.
With a cell-shaded aesthetic, the game has already achieved its Kickstarter goal a month out from its deadline. Players that back the game on that platform will receive a game key when the game releases around August 2024, as well as other perks.
Ground of Aces Trailer
The two-and-a-half-minute trailer showcases what will be in store for gamers when they pick up the game.
The showcase walks you through the game’s graphics and the structures, people, and planes you’ll need to build and maintain for a successful campaign.
Ground of Aces Gameplay
Like other games in the genre, Ground of Aces will feature both a campaign and sandbox mode. Players will need to lay out their bases for their crew and team members.
Throughout the game, you’ll need to stay attentive to the needs of your crew, as each has their own personality and will mourn the loss of fallen comrades.

With a unique art style and historically accurate airplanes, this game was created for base-building and aviation enthusiasts.
Ground of Aces is scheduled to release sometime around August 2024, but those that want to play as soon as the game releases can back the title on Kickstarter for a key.
