East of Stormkapp, you may come across an Abandoned Tower location where a blacksmith by the name of Claes is hiding out. If you choose to use a lockpick to release Claes, you’ll obtain a mission to find him work as a blacksmith. He doesn’t seem too bad, so I went ahead and released him, picking up the Escort quest in return. Note that you will need a Thief in your party as well as a lockpick or two to crack open the shackles and free Claes. Once Claes is freed, you’ll obtain a quest called The Man in Chains, and you can simultaneously complete the Hammer for Hire quest in Stormkapp by following the steps we’ve outlined below.
How to Complete Hammer for Hire in Wartales
To complete Hammer for Hire, free Claes from the Abandoned Tower using a lockpick and escort him to Master Hulan, the blacksmith in Stormkapp. Master Hulan is looking for a blacksmith, and he might be a little upset that you bring him a Refugee instead, but he’ll still accept and give you 20 Raw Materials and 15 Influence in return.
Claes, the Refugee blacksmith, will then work for the Stormkapp Villagers. Better than hiding out in an Abandoned Tower, probably. Here’s a map of where to go in case you stumbled upon this post and have yet to pick up this mission or visit the locations.
