How to Play Diablo 4 Early

Here's what you need to know about how to play Diablo 4 early and get a headstart in Sanctuary.

Fans of the iconic hack-and-slash action RPG franchise Diablo are eagerly awaiting the release of the highly-anticipated Diablo 4, itching to slay demons and embark on adventures throughout Sanctuary. Fortunately, early access opportunities are on the horizon for those eager to get a head start on their journey. Here’s how you can play Diablo 4 early, including which editions of the game to order and how to access both Open Beta weekends.

How to Play Diablo 4 Early

Gamers who pre-order the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition of Diablo 4 get access to the full game four days early. Therefore, if you’re a diehard Diablo fan who wants to take every opportunity to gain an edge over the competition, you’ll likely want to pick up the Diablo 4 Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition.

To reiterate, Diablo 4 launches on June 6, 2023. Players who pre-order Diablo 4 Digital Deluxe Edition or Diablo 4 Ultimate Edition can begin playing Diablo 4 on June 2, 2023.

Here’s a breakdown of the pricing for all three editions of Diablo 4:

  • Diablo 4 Standard Edition: $69.99
  • Diablo 4 Deluxe Edition: $89.99
  • Diablo 4 Ultimate Edition: $99.99

In addition to up to four days of early access, players also get a variety of cosmetic rewards unique to the more expensive editions of the game. These bonuses include the Temptation Mount, Hellborn Carapace Mount Armor, Premium Seasonal Battle Pass, the Amalgam of Rage Mount in World of Warcraft, and more.

If you’re trying to figure out which edition of Diablo 4 you should order, take a look at the items included in each version to help you decide. If you value the cosmetics offered in the more expensive editions, as well as the four-day headstart — which, let’s be honest, is a huge advantage — then the Digital Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition might be for you.

You can browse through the different editions of Diablo 4 on the Blizzard website. It’s also worth noting there is a Diablo IV Limited Collector’s Box, but this version does not include the game. This is merely a box of collectible Diablo-related items.

Accessing the Diablo 4 Early Access and Open Beta Weekends

Another way to play Diablo 4 early is through the Early Access Open Beta, which runs from March 17 at noon EDT to March 20 at 3 p.m. EDT. The three-day Early Access Open Beta weekend gives players the opportunity to explore Fractured Peaks, the first zone in Sanctuary, and level to 25.

Now, if you’re not a fan of pre-ordering games, you can also pick up a Diablo 4 beta code courtesy of KFC if you order the promotional items. KFC will email you a beta code directly if you order an item off the menu that’s part of the promo.

Furthermore, there’s another Open Beta the following weekend, which is free for all players, regardless of whether or not they’ve pre-ordered Diablo 4. And remember, there are some cool Diablo 4 beta rewards players can earn by participating in the game early, including the Beta Wolf Pack.

As the Diablo 4 Early Access and Open Beta weekends approach, Blizzard Entertainment will likely provide more information, updates, and news regarding the game.
