Jennifer Hale Speaks on Upcoming Bayonetta Role

The current Bayonetta 3 voice actress breaks silence on upcoming role

It was revealed earlier this month that the previous voice actor for the lead role of Bayonetta, Hellena Taylor, would be replaced by voice actress Jennifer Hale. While Taylor had been the voice of the character Bayonetta for the first two games, it was shown that she would not be reprising her role for the upcoming title, which releases later this month on October 28, 2022.

Jennifer Hale Posts Response to Twitter

After this news was originally released to the public, Hellena Taylor took to Twitter and urged fans to boycott the upcoming game in response to the change. However, after the events took place, Hale took to her own Twitter account and voiced her remarks about the situation, stating that her reputation speaks for itself and that she is under an NDA and is not at liberty to speak about the situation. In part of her statement, Hale remarks,

“Anyone who knows me, or has followed my career, will know that I have great respect for my peers, and that I am an advocate for all members of the community.

I am under an NDA and am not at liberty to speak regarding this situation. My reputation speaks for itself.”

Players Can Decide for Themselves If the Game Is Right for Them

While a change to a fan-favorite character certainly makes waves in the gaming community, it will ultimately be up to fans of the Bayonetta series to determine if the game is worth purchasing for them. Only time will tell if this casting decision will have any long-term effects on future game sales when it releases later this month.
