While most online multiplayer games are about destroying an enemy team or player, the latest game from Pastagames and Devolver Digital is looking to subvert expectations again with their upcoming title KarmaZoo — a cooperative multiplayer game where the goal is to gain the most karma by working together to complete levels.
With a retro, pixel aesthetic, up to 10 players will work together to overcome a series of challenges and puzzles by collecting perks and working together. An example in the trailer showed a player intentionally jumping on spikes so their team could use the player’s tombstone to complete the level. In KarmaZoo, every good act is worth it.
In addition to an online Loop mode, where you’ll be paired up with random teammates from around the world, there is also a Totem mode, a local tournament that pits up to 8 players together in a series of challenging and fun minigames on a single screen. Sounds like it’ll be the perfect game mode for parties and get-togethers.
