Here are the major changes and what you need to know about the Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord 1.0 patch notes.
Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord 1.0 Patch Notes (October 25)
Here are the most significant changes in the Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord 1.0 Patch notes:
- Added Banner Mechanic
- Reinforcement Respawns
- Knockdown and Armor Reworks
- Improved AI and Campaign Map Updates
- Companions and Clan Management
- Diplomacy & Crafting Reworks
Banner Mechanic
The all-new Banner mechanic provides combat bonuses to your soldiers. Much like actual real-life battles, banners are used to show special areas in pitched battles and can help inspire troops around them.
When your banner drops, other soldiers will try to reclaim it before entering the fray.
Reinforcement Respawns
Ever stomp the enemy AI so hard that you eventually just camp their spawn and insta-kill them as soon as they appear? Well, this won’t be possible anymore with the new Reinforcement Respawns added by Taleworlds.
Armies will have an additional 2 respawn areas to respawn from and select “safe” areas so they don’t get killed immediately.
Knockdown and Armor Reworks
Weapons now take a more deterministic approach with a new stat that dictates stagger, knockdowns, and dismounts from horses.
High-tier armor now boasts additional protection against blunt weapons, making the random battle with looters a lot more rewarding and less punishing when you get caught alone or with a tiny party.
Improved AI and Campaign Map Updates
AI has been reworked so they are smarter on the battlefield and will (hopefully) no longer bunch up into giant death balls and get stuck in weird terrain areas. Attackers now focus less on siege engines and will focus more on wall breaches.
On the campaign map, AI will now have either defensive or aggressive attributes and will dictate their behavior when on the campaign map. This should make allied lords act more intelligently throughout your campaign.
Companions and Clan Management
Players can now visit an Arena Master to reset skill points for themselves and companions in their party. Children will now gain attributes over time instead of all at once at adulthood.
Companions will now spawn throughout the late game, so as you play through your campaign, you will come across new companions. There have also been major enhancements to Clan Management, providing a greater level of control over your parties.
Diplomacy & Crafting Reworks
Trading and diplomacy have been fine-tuned to make it more balanced and realistic. UI improvements and mechanics have also been improved for crafting. 40 new heads and 40 new handles have been added, increasing the level of customization in the weapons and armor you craft.
Lastly, more cutscenes and cinematics have been added to the game to immerse you into the world of Calradia further.
