What is Persona 5 Royal?
Persona 5 Royal is a turn-based RPG built around making friends to gain power. In this universe, a few brave people fight against Shadows using Personas, weaponized projections of their own personalities.
Persona 5 Royal stars Joker as the leader of the Phantom Thieves. The Phantom Thieves are out to save Tokyo from the corrupt by diving into the Metaverse (no, not that one). Inside this realm shaped by human thoughts, they crack mental fortresses known as Palaces.

The main gameplay is turn-based dungeon crawling. Joker and friends must battle through each Palace’s defenders to reach the Rulers and redeem the people behind them. As Personas are linked to their wielders, their power is connected too.
Joker must make new friendships and strengthen existing ones to succeed. Doing so makes his Persona stronger and gains him entirely new ones. As one linked to the Fool Arcana, Joker is one of the few with access to this ability.
