Pokemon GO players have a new Team GO Rocket-focused Battle Weekend Challenge event to participate in as part of the game’s sixth-anniversary celebrations. Below, we’ve listed out all of the Pokemon GO Battle Weekend Challenge Special Research tasks and rewards. These are separate from the Timed Research tasks, which we also have a post on if you need somewhere to reference the tasks.
Below is a complete list of the six Pokemon GO Battle Weekend Challenge Special Research groups of tasks. Overall, this Special Research is good for gaining lots of XP, Candy, and getting the opportunity to face off against Giovanni, who has a Shadow Latios up for grabs. Check the section below for the Team GO Rocket leader lineups for Arlo, Cliff, Sierra, and Giovanni.
Pokemon GO Battle Weekend Challenge Special Research
Task 1 of 6
- Win a raid: rewards a Darumaka encounter
- Defeat 3 Team GO Rocket Members: rewards 3 Hyper Potion
- Catch a Shadow Pokemon: rewards a Darumaka encounter
- Rewards: 1,000 XP, 15 Poke Balls, 3 Rare Candy
Task 2 of 6
- Catch 5 Shadow Pokemon: rewards 10 Pinap Berry
- Make 3 Nice Curveball Throws in a row: rewards 10 Razz Berry
- Defeat 5 Team GO Rocket Grunts: rewards 10 Nanab Berry
- Rewards: 1,500 XP, 1,000 Stardust, 10 Great Balls
Task 3 of 6
- Purify 5 Shadow Pokemon: rewards 1,000 XP
- Defeat 5 Team GO Rocket Grunts: rewards 1,000 XP
- Earn 3 Candies walking with your buddy: rewards 1,000 XP
- Rewards: 2,000 XP, 15 Great Balls, 1 Rocket Radar
Task 4 of 6
- Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Arlo: rewards 1,500 XP
- Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Cliff: rewards 1,500 XP
- Defeat Team GO Rocket Leader Sierra: rewards 1,500 XP
- Rewards: 2,500 XP, 1,000 Stardust, 1 Super Rocket Radar
Task 5 of 6
- Find the Team GO Rocket Boss: rewards 5 Max Potion
- Battle the Team GO Rocket Boss: rewards 20 Ultra Balls
- Defeat the Team GO Rocket Boss: rewards 5 Max Revive
- Rewards: 3,000 XP, 1 Lucky Egg, 2 Golden Razz Berry
Task 6 of 6
- Claim rewards: 7,500 XP
- Rewards: 1 Charged TM, 1 Fast TM, 2 Silver Pinap Berry
