Mimikyu is a Ghost- and Fairy-type Pokemon first introduced in Generation VII. No matter which version of Pokemon Scarlet or Violet you’re playing, you can catch a Mimikyu reasonably early in your adventures. If you want to find one for yourself, we’ve put together a quick walkthrough that shows you where to find your first Mimikyu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Where to Find Mimikyu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
Mimikyu is found northeast of the East Province (Area Two) Pokemon Center.
To find Mimikyu in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, travel to the Pokemon Center East Province (Area Two) and head northeast to the unmarked ruins. You will need to cross the river by swimming or jumping across it on your Pokemon. You should see some stone ruins, and Mimikyu can be found there.
It’s worth noting that Mimikyu seems to be a relatively rarer spawn and may not be there every time. If you don’t see it, leave the area and then revisit it to reset the Pokemon spawns. You should eventually be able to find one hanging out in the grass.
Refer to the map below for an exact location if you need help pinpointing it in-game.
The Mimikyu in this location should be around Level 20, so you can catch it relatively early on in your Paldea adventures. As always, once you find the Mimikyu, consider saving your game beforehand. You wouldn’t want to knock out the Pokemon without a save point to go back to, just in case.
As an added note, you can find a higher-level Mimikyu (Lv. 31-50) in the Tagtree Thicket.
Mimikyu is a Ghost- and Fairy-type Pokemon with the chance of knowing Disguise and Telepathy. Mimikyu does not have an evolution, so there is no way to evolve it in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
That’s everything you need to know about how to catch Mimikyu in Pokemon SV. You can check out our Pokemon Section for more guides and walkthroughs for Pokemon SV and other Pokemon games.
