Prince of Persia is getting a new game, but it might not be what you think. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is an action-adventure platformer that promises to take players on an epic journey filled with thrilling combat, intricate puzzles, and breathtaking environments. Unlike previous installments in the franchise, this new title has a much more cartoony aesthetic and puts the player in a 2.5D universe. Here’s everything we know about the game so far.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Release Date

Ubisoft announced at Summer Games Fest 2023 that the highly anticipated game Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will be released on January 17, 2024, for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Amazon Luna.

In addition to a release date, the reveal trailer for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was released during the Summer Game Fest 2023. The trailer showcases the game’s stunning graphics and hints at the epic journey players will embark on. 

The prince has been kidnapped and taken to a forbidden land, and all hope rests with the Immortals to rescue him and save the empire. 

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Gameplay Details

In Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, players will assume the role of Sargon, a sword-wielding prodigy who evolves into an extraordinary legend. The gameplay involves a perfect blend of parkour, combat, and puzzle-solving that characterizes the Prince of Persia series. Players will have the opportunity to master acrobatic combat and unlock new Time Powers and unique super abilities.

The game is set in the rich and vibrant environments of the mythological Mount Qaf. As mentioned, unlike previous games in the franchise, The Lost Crown will feature 2.5D platforming sections rather than the 3D third-person perspective gamers are used to.
