Private Division and Game Freak Join Forces for New Game IP

The two companies will collaborate on a new game called Project Bloom.

Today Private Division, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive, announced their partnership with the Japanese video game development company, Game Freak, to develop an entirely new and original IP called Project Bloom. Originally founded in 1989, Game Freak is a well-known development team known for iconic Pokémon games, including titles like Pokémon Red and Blue and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Kota Furushima, Director at Game Freak said

We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to create new IP that is bold and tonally different from our prior work… From the beginning, Private Division was the publisher we wanted to work with on our new game. Their track record and global expertise give us all the confidence to create a sweeping new action-adventure game that we can’t wait to share more about in the future.

Along with the partnership announcement, new art was also released for the upcoming Project Bloom title, showcasing a scene with East Asian influences drawn by Kazuma Koda of NieR fame.

According to the announcement, Project Bloom is scheduled for release during Take-Two’s Fiscal Year 2026, so gamers must wait for the new game, though we’re sure that there will be more teasers and content leading to the game’s release.
