Ra Ra Boom is a 2D side scroller where players team up as ninja cheerleaders to destroy threats from outer space and is scheduled to release Fall of 2023 for PC.
If you’re a fan of the retro-style 2D side-scroller, you’ll get another game to play this fall in the form of Ra Ra Boom, a colorful action co-op game in development from Gylee Games, an indie development company located out of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Ra Ra Boom’s a little over 1-minute announcement trailer showcases the gameplay players will be able to experience this fall.
In addition to showing off the unique cast of characters, it also gives players a sneak peek into some of the combat mechanics and special abilities each character will have.
Ra Ra Boom Story
Ra Ra Boom’s story is an emotional coming-of-age tale about a group of ninja cheerleaders that must save humanity. Playable characters Aris, Saida, Ren, and Vee all have unique personalities, quirks, and abilities players can use in the game. Their goal? Get vengeance for their friend and leader at the hands of Zoi, the game’s nefarious AI antagonist.
The game will tackle serious topics like mental health, friendship, and imposter syndrome, all while navigating through the title’s hand-drawn environments.
Ra Ra Boom Gameplay
The game will feature up to four-player co-op and takes cues from classic 2D beat ’em up side-scrollers. Each selectable character will have its own unique abilities and upgrades, giving players options depending on their preferred playstyle.
It will also feature a horizontal lane system, making it easier and more intuitive to specifically target enemies, something that many 2D side scrollers lack. With 10 initial levels and cinematic cutscenes to set the narrative, this is certainly a game we’re looking forward to.
