Horror is an often-maligned genre; the subjectiveness of it all means that even the most highly praised entries like Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Alien Isolation will have detractors that don’t find the games scary. Ebb Software is entering the field with Scorn, a grotesque and visceral title coming soon. Here’s what we know about Scorn, including the release date and twisted gameplay trailer.
What is the Scorn Release Date?
Scorn is coming out on October 14, 2022, on the Windows Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, and GoG. It’s also available for the Xbox Series X|S.
What is Scorn?
Scorn is a first-person horror game set in the remains of an industrial civilization, though not one looking like anything we’d call home. There is a running theme of desolation and organic technology, but the details are yet unknown.
We know there is a measure of combat among the gameplay mechanics, with a bony-looking piston-gun shown in trailers with more weapons, items, and puzzles. That said, do not expect an action-shooter romp like Resident Evil or Dead Space.
Watch the gameplay trailer for Scorn, narrated by Doug Bradley (Pinhead from Hellraiser):
Scorn is a horror game, first and foremost, with threats that can easily end your character’s life in short order. It will be interesting to see if this game’s distinct style and much-boasted atmosphere live up to the hype, perhaps giving Horror aficionados another classic to treasure.
What Platforms is Scorn On?
Scorn will be available for PC players on the Windows Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, and GoG. It’s also available for the Xbox Series X|S.
