For all the time the Sea of Thieves community spends blasting the ships of other players and taking their stuff, it turns out there are some hearts of gold hidden beneath. The open-seas adventure, developed by Rare, is supporting Special Effect’s “One Special Day” charity event, joining others in raising money for gamers with disabilities. Here’s what we know about the Sea of Thieves “One Special Day” charity event.
Sea of Thieves One Special Day Charity Event
On October 7, 2022, all net proceeds for Sea of Thieves Steam purchases will go to the Special Effect’s One Special Day charity. This includes Ancient Coin packs, direct purchases, and even purchases of the game itself. If you’d like to donate to the cause, you can log into Sea of Thieves and purchase something or just purchase the game if you don’t already own it.
Special Effect is an organization that’s dedicated to helping people with disabilities access video games. With the help of eye-gaze technology and robotics, Special Effect has had a profoundly positive effect on the gamers the organization helps.

What is Sea of Thieves?
Sea of Thieves is a multiplayer adventure game with an emphasis on player interaction. Players undertake quests, fight naval battles, and contend with ghosts and skeletons alone or with up to 3 friends in one of 3 different ship classes. That sloop on the horizon could be sailing over to offer supplies or plunder every last chest on board, so players must learn to be cautious and treat other vessels in the titular sea as potential threats.
