Sims 5 Project Rene Announced

Excited for Sims 5? Here's everything we know about Sims 5 Project Renee, currently in development.

The Sims, developed by Maxis Studios and published by Electronic Arts, has been a mainstay in the gaming sphere. Originally an offshoot of Sim City, the original Sims was released in 2000. Now, over two decades later, the creators of this iconic series have finally given us an update via the Sims Summit Stream event, on what they call Sims 5 Project Rene. Here’s what was revealed at the Sims Summit Stream event.

What’s New in Sims 5 Project Rene?

While not much was discussed about the new upcoming Sims 5 Project Rene, we did hear and see some of what we can expect, including Creative Tools and a greater emphasis on sharing creations with the Sims community.

It should be noted that this is very early in development, and there is no official word on a release for the full or early-access versions of the game.

New Creative Tools

Players will not only have the ability to change patterns and colors on furniture but also will gain the ability to change shapes, place pillows, and have more control generally over how you decorate the interiors of your home. The new Sims will take aspects from previous games that worked, as well as innovates and improves existing systems. Maybe we’ll see some mod functionality from Sims 4 make it into the game’s final release.

You can also share your creations on the market across multiple platforms and devices, and your friends can view what you’re doing within the game! For players that don’t want to have that social aspect, no worries–single-player mode will still exist if you’re not feeling social during your Sims 5 Project Rene binge.

Early Access is Available

Maxis also claimed at the Sims Summit stream event that there would be an early-access period for Sims Project Rene. This means that eager gamers that can’t wait to get their hands on Sims 5 Project Rene may not have to wait years. Only time will tell who will be able to play the early access versions of the game.
