Where to Find Fire Slime in Slime Rancher 2

Here's where to find Fire Slime in Slime Rancher 2, and how to get Fire Plorts out of them back at The Conservatory.

There are dozens of slimes to collect in Slime Rancher 2, and some have different living conditions and requirements than others. One such slime that fits this category is the Fire Slime. You’ll need Fire Plorts eventually, so in this guide, we’ll show you where to find Fire Slime in Slime Rancher 2, and how to farm them for Fire Plorts.

Where to Find Fire Slime in Slime Rancher 2

Fire Slime is found in the far western region of Ember Valley, near the lava pits. These slimes can also be found inside the cave in Ember Valley if you follow the stream of lava.

Note that while Fire Slime looks similar to Boom Slimes, they are an entirely different species and can only survive inside of lava. Fire Slimes have a strict diet of ash, which is not a food you’ll find in the wild and pick up. Instead, you’ll be using the Incinerator upgrade on your plots.

How to Get Fire Plorts in Slime Rancher 2

To get Fire Plorts in Slime Rancher 2, build an Incinerator on any of your plots and purchase the Ash Tough upgrade, and place the Fire Slimes inside the Ash Trough. The Fire Slime will immediately begin producing Fire Plorts, which you can pickup and sell or put into the refinery.

An Ash Trough allows you to collect the ash of incinerated food at its base. The ash is then eaten exclusively by Fire Slimes. The Incinerator costs 450 Newbucks to build, and the Ash Trough upgrade costs 500 Newbucks to build.

After building the Incinerator and Ash Trough, toss a few Fire Slime into the plot. There’s no limit to how many Fire Slimes you can put in here. It all depends on how many Fire Plorts you need.

As an added bonus, you can also build the Magma Pool decoration at the Fabricator and place your Fire Slime in there. They will likely not produce any Fire Plorts, though, since there’s no ash in there. The Magma Pool Pod is located in the southern Ember Valley location.
