Today, Bethesda Softworks, developers of the high-anticipated space epic, Starfield, finally announced the release date for the game.
While we’ve had some tentative dates for the “first half of 2023,” players have been largely left in the dark about the release date of the upcoming space game, Starfield. Today, Game Director Todd Howard and the Bethesda Softworks team released a new Official Launch Date Announcement Trailer. Starfield is now set to release on September 6, 2023, for Xbox X|S and PC.
Starfield: Official Launch Date Announcement
The two-and-a-half-minute launch trailer showcases a little more gameplay — but, most importantly, includes a word from the game’s director, Todd Howard. According to Howard,
“We know you’ve waited to play something new from us; believe it or not, we’re kind of the same. We miss it.”
In addition, more details will be announced on the game via a Starfield Direct event on June 11, 2023.
How Can I Play Starfield When it Releases?
PlayStation players may be slightly upset to learn that Starfield is actually an Xbox exclusive. Starfield will release on Xbox and PC when it releases on September 6, 2023, but players can also play the game via Xbox Game Pass as a day-one release.
That means that if you don’t have the funds to invest in a whole new Xbox or the actual game itself, you can get the PC version of Xbox Game Pass, which costs around $10 per month, instead — granted that you have a PC that meets the minimum requirements.
