Open-world adventure games are getting more creative, and it’s always a breath of fresh air when a new IP comes along and wows you. That’s certainly the case with early-gameplay footage of Tchia, the new upcoming adventure game developed by Awaceb. Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming open-world adventure game.
What is Tchia?
Tchia is an open-world adventure game where you sail, glide, and climb around a beautiful world crafted in the image of a real-life paradise, New Caledonia.
On an island east of Australia, the small development team at Awaceb has managed to develop a game that captures the beauty of where team leaders, Phil Crifo and Thierry Boura, are originally from.
A Robust Story Based on an Actual Paradise
One of the most standout aspects of Tchia is the beautiful aesthetic and vibe that the game manages to achieve. In one sense, it’s very relaxing, as watching the game makes you feel like you’re in New Caledonia.
In another, the gameplay mechanics make it feel smooth as you slide and glide your way around the game world. The ability to jump into various flora and fauna around the Island makes it unique from its counterparts.
We know you’ll also be meeting and forming relationships with various people on the island, and we’re excited to see how far the story goes.
Become a Dolphin, Bird, or Coconut in Tchia
One of the core aspects of Tchia is the ability for your character to “soul jump” into various animals and plants in the world. Whether it’s swimming in the reef as a dolphin or soaring high above the Island as a bird, in Tchia you get to become one with the nature around you, literally.
This, combined with the great animation and character models, creates an open-world experience that is one of a kind.

Tchia is set to release sometime in early 2023. While we don’t have an exact release date, you can always wishlist the game on Steam.

Tchia will be available for PlayStation and PC.
