Fans of The Last of Us games have had their fair share of content over the past few years, with reboots and remakes of the IP rearing their head every few years. Fans of The Last of Us game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony have got something new to chew on–a full-length series debuting on HBO in 2023. Here’s what we know about The Last of Us HBO show, including the trailer and cast.
The Last of Us series stars Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, Game of Thrones) as Joel and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) as Ellie and looks like a grim take on what is already a bleak, dark storyline. This is perfect, considering the aesthetic and story of the game.
Much like the game in The Last of Us series, a viral outbreak causes people to transform into horrifying zombie-like monsters. Rather than the zombies themselves, The Last of Us focuses on the relationship between the main characters, Joel and Ellie, and the interactions and decisions they have to make as they traverse a brutal and dangerous post-apocalyptic America.

In addition to Pascal and Ramsey, the show will feature Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) as Bill and Gabriel Luna (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as Tommy.
We can’t say whether the show will be as good as the game, but if HBO’s past projects are anything to go by, there’s a high chance that this will be a high-quality production that will likely exceed fans’ expectations.
