Trepang2, a gory, high-intensity FPS developed by Trepang Studios and published by Team17, will be released this year.
If your FPS games aren’t bloody enough for you, then you need to check out the recently posted trailer for Trepang2, published by Team17, the same company that brought us titles like DREDGE, Marauders, and Hell Let Loose.
Set in a distant future, players will use an arsenal of weaponry and supernatural abilities on a mission of destruction. What sets the title apart, however, is the developers of the game, Trepang Studios, seem to have set out to create the goriest title imaginable.
Trepang2 Release Date
Trepang2 is scheduled to release on June 21, 2023, for PC via Steam, as reported by Team17 on Twitter. Additionally, a playable demo of Trepang2 can now be found on the Steam Store.

The almost 2-minute trailer of Trepang2 is not for the faint of heart. There’s visceral imagery, exploding body parts, and blood — lots of blood.
The reveal showcases some of the gore physics and gunplay that players can expect in the upcoming title, as well as giving players a tiny glimpse into the game’s storyline.
Trepang2 Gameplay and Story Details
A spiritual successor to over-the-top FPS games from the mid-2000s such as F.E.A.R., Trepang2 features bullet time, campaign and horde modes, and a brutal melee mode. As a single-player game, it will be more about the journey you take throughout your campaign rather than other FPS titles that opt for PvP combat.
While little is known about the story, the basic premise is that you play a super soldier with insane supernatural abilities. You’ve been locked up in the past and now work for a shadowy organization and must go on missions to take out the institution that captured you. While the plot might resemble other revenge-game narratives, it’s really the high-intensity gameplay that we’re looking forward to most.
