Warlander, a 100-Player F2P Medieval PvP Game, Enters Open Beta on September 12

Well, this came out of nowhere...

There’s usually some hype behind a release regarding significant releases and tremendous multiplayer PvP experiences. Warlander, a 100-player PvP fantasy medieval game, breaks that mold. With little fanfare, the open beta starts next week. We’ve got some information and screenshots for Warlander, the upcoming title from Toylogic and PLAION.

What is Warlander?

Warlander is a massive third-person online multiplayer game developed by Toylogic that is set in a fantasy medieval world. Players can play as a warrior, cleric, or mage–each with a unique set of skills.

The game focuses on two main aspects. Skirmishes and seiges. Two game modes will be available at launch, a 20 vs. 20 game mode and a 5-team game mode with up to 100 players.

Even though not much is known about Warlander, besides the few screenshots we’ve seen so far–we do know that the game’s developers, Toylogic, have worked on other large releases in the past.

According to their website, they’ve worked on previous games such as Super Smash Bros. BrawlKid Icarus: Uprising, and NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139.

The game’s publisher, PLAION, has also worked on other significant game releases, including Crusader Kings IIIDead by Daylight, and Dead Island 2, just to name a few.

While we’ve yet to see any raw gameplay, the few screenshots and details we have so far, along with some tidbits of information, have definitely piqued our interest. We’re especially interested to see how many fantasy elements are in the game. Regardless, it’s probably worth checking out either way; after all, it is F2P, so why not download it and try it out yourself when it comes out?

When Does Warlander Release?

Warlander enters Open Beta on PC Monday, September 12, 2022, on Steam.
