Today’s Call of Duty Next showcase was full of exciting announcements for fans of the world’s most popular shooter. Not only did we learn more details about the upcoming iteration of Warzone, but we got a look at the new Warzone 2 map, Al Mazrah.
The new map for Warzone 2.0 is an exciting mix of geographies: desert zones, subterranean zones, industrial areas, towns, caves, rocky terrain, and water. It’s also the largest battle royale map made so far.
Warzone 2 Al Mazrah Map Overview
Here’s an overview of the Warzone 2 Al Mazrah map:
Warzone 2 Al Mazrah Points of Interest
The marked zones, also called points of interest (or POIs), on Al Mazrah are:
- Oasis
- Taraq Village
- Rohan Oil
- Al mazrah City
- Quarry
- Hydroelectric
- Marshlands
- Caves
- Al Sharim Pass
- Observatory
- Port
- Sa’id City
- Ahkdar Village
- Cemetary
- Airport
- Sawah Village
- Sarrif Bay
- Fortress
Many points of interest give players plenty of options for drop-in zones, depending on how they want to play. There’s a mix of elevated areas, large cities, and more secluded areas. A river system connects many of the POIs, so players can hop into a boat and travel throughout the map.
Call of Duty veterans will probably recognize Highrise and Terminal, two popular MW2 maps. It was rumored that these maps would be part of Warzone 2, and now it’s confirmed.
That’s not all, though; Al Mazrah also features Strongholds. These are fortified buildings occupied by computer-controlled AI. Players can choose to take on these strongholds to obtain loot and get their loadouts. Fight your way through these protected POIs to snag the best weapons for you and your squad.
Warzone 2 is scheduled to release on November 16, 2022.
