Meet Your Maker – Steampunk Survival Meets Tower Defense

An innovative concept that melds multiple genres together

Behaviour Interactive, the same company that brought you Dead by Daylight, is creating a new game set in a dystopian steampunk universe. Continue reading if you’re looking for punishing first-person action, building, and puzzles. Here’s what we know about the upcoming game, Meet Your Maker.

What is Meet Your Maker

Meet Your Maker is a new twist on the typical first-person looter shooter. The game melds concepts from games like Rust and Escape from Tarkov together, allowing players to raid and build giant fortresses to protect their loot. In Meet Your Maker, you can set up traps, set sentries, and create a labyrinth of death for other players to succumb to.

On the other side of things, once the buildings are complete, you can drop down and raid other people’s creations. The only catch, if you die, you lose everything. There are online leaderboards that give the game even more stakes than it already has.

When Does Meet Your Maker Release?

Meet Your Maker is slated to release sometime in 2023. While an official launch date is still unknown, early gameplay footage indicates that the project is in a somewhat playable state already, so we can hopefully expect the game before next year’s holiday season.

What Platforms is Meet Your Maker On?

Meet Your Maker will be available on PCPlayStation, and Xbox.

What Makes Meet Your Maker Different?

Meet Your Maker is the first game in recent memory that has melded punishing 1-hit-death first-person shooter mechanics with a tower defense-like game. You’ll need the dexterity to kill enemies and disable traps while flexing your puzzle and problem-solving skills.

For those frustrated with the insane learning curve that other games have when dealing with the PvP aspects of the game, don’t worry. According to the developers, players will have all the time they need to gather resources and play the PvE elements before turning on PvP.

Meet Your Maker should really attract two audiences; those that like to raid and destroy other people’s creations while competing competitively and those that enjoy strategic tower defense and puzzle games. Instead of some brain-dead AI mindlessly walking to their death, you’ll have to contend with other players and human competition.
