Xbox Announces Game Pass Core, A New Multiplayer Service

The new monthly subscription will launch on September 14, 2023.

Xbox gamers are about to get more options for Xbox monthly subscriptions with the introduction of Game Pass Core. In a recent blog post, Xbox announced the new service, which will cost $9.99 per month or $59.99 per year. The service focuses on Xbox multiplayer games and grants access to 25 online multiplayer games that players can pick up to game with their friends. 

The new service is supposed to be the new evolution of Xbox Live Gold and will replace Games with Gold. 

Xbox Game Pass Core Games List

New multiplayer games will be added 2-3 times a year. The following 25 games will be playable with friends that are signed up for the Xbox Game Pass Core service: 

  • Among Us
  • Descenders
  • Dishonored 2
  • Doom Eternal
  • Fable Anniversary
  • Fallout 4
  • Fallout 76
  • Forza Horizon 4
  • Gears 5
  • Grounded
  • Halo 5: Guardians
  • Halo Wars 2
  • Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
  • Human Fall Flat
  • Inside
  • Ori & The Will of the Wisps
  • Psychonauts 2
  • State of Decay 2
  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited

On September 14, Xbox Live Gold members will automatically be transferred to the new service with no change in pricing, and member discounts will continue to be available as part of Game Pass Core. 

Games with Gold will officially end on September 1, 2023. Games with Gold members will continue to have access to their games on Xbox One as long as they remain an Xbox Game Pass Core or Ultimate member, and all Xbox 360 titles will remain in your library.
