Modern Warfare 2 is officially live, and after working your way through the campaign, it’s about time to click some heads in multiplayer. The first assault rifle you’ll be able to use in Modern Warfare 2 is the M4, and it’s a doozy.
The M4 is not a newcomer to the Call of Duty franchise, featured in Modern Warfare and other CoD titles like Call of Duty Mobile and Heroes. It’s a superior assault rifle, so let’s take a look at a tried and true loadout to help you get the most out of it.
Below is the best Modern Warfare 2 M4 loadout, along with the weapons’ best attachments, class perks, and equipment.
Best M4 Loadout in Modern Warfare 2
- Muzzle: Hightower 20″ Barrel
- Stock: Demo D50 Buffer Tube
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
- Rear Grip: XTEN Grip
- Receiver: M4
- Magazine: 45-Round Mag
You can do some mixing and matching based on the recommended attachments above. Using a 45-round magazine is always a decent option, as the 60-round mag impacts the movement speed and weapon mobility a bit too much.
To help with mobility, we’ll be using the XTEN Grip. This grip provides a nice boost to Sprint to Fire Speed and Aim Down Site Speed while giving a slight reduction in recoil control. We’ll make up for that on the Stock, though.
For the Stock, we’re going with the Demo D50 Buffer Tube for added aiming stability and recoil control. Since this is an AR, an attachment like this helps with control quite a bit.
We also use the longest barrel available for added bullet velocity, damage range, and recoil control. The Hightower 20″ Barrel negatively affects ADS and movement speed, but that’s why we’re using the other attachments.
Finally, we’re using the FTAC Ripper 56 underbarrel for more aiming stability and recoil stabilization. Another option here is the FSS Sharkfin 90 for the aiming idle stability and no cons, but we prefer the FTAC.
Best M4 Modern Warfare 2 Class and Perks
- Perk 1: Double Time or Tracker
- Perk 2: Battle Hardened or Scavenger
- Bonus Perk: Fast Hands
- Ultimate: Ghost or Birdseye
- Lethal: C4
- Tactical: Stim
For the first perk, we like to use either Double Time for more sprint duration or Tracker to track enemy footsteps.
Second, we like Battle Hardened to reduce the effect of incoming tacticals or Scavenger to re-up on ammo.
Next up, the Fast Hands bonus perk is the best for any assault class, allowing you to reload and swap weapons faster.
Finally, for the ultimate, we like to go with Ghost for invisibility on radars and UAVs or Birdseye to hunt down more enemies.
