Modern Warfare 2 is officially live, and you’re probably ready to hop into Multiplayer and grind those camos. The first SMG you’ll be able to use in Modern Warfare 2 is the Vel 46, and it’s not a bad weapon overall, especially with the right loadout.
The VEL 46 is Modern Warfare 2’s MP7, a staple in every past Call of Duty game. It goes without saying that this is a beast of an SMG, and it’s about as good as MP7 enthusiasts could have imagined.
Below is the best Modern Warfare 2 VEL 46 loadout, along with the weapons’ best attachments, class perks, and equipment.
Best VEL 46 Loadout in Modern Warfare 2
- Muzzle: SA Schalldampfer 99
- Stock: VEL A-568 Collapsed
- Underbarrel: Phase-3 Grip
- Laser: 1mW Quick Fire Laser
- Rear Grip: Schlager Soldier Grip
The first attachment we’ll look at is the Muzzle, and we’re going with the SA Schalldampfer 99. The attachment gives us Sound Suppression, Bullet Velocity and improves recoil. It does slow down our ADS, but we more than compensate for that with the next attachments.
For the VEL 46 stock, we go with the VEL A-568 Collapsed for better ADS, Sprint to Fire Speed, Movement Speed, and Hip Recoil Control.
Next up, like most people, we like to run with a laser on our SMG. The 1mW Quick Fire Laser is the second laser you’ll unlock by leveling the Lockwood 300 to Level 4. The attachment provides better ADS Speed.
As for the Underbarrel, the Phase-3 Grip provides what we’re looking for: Aiming Idle Stability, Hip Fire Accuracy, and Recoil Stabilization. Stay on target and ready for those close-quarters combat scenarios.
We close things out with the Schlager Soldier Grip for even more Sprint to Fire Speeed and Aim Down Sight Speed. As you can tell, the build revolves around mobility and aim quickness, which is essential for an SMG build.
Best VEL 46 Modern Warfare 2 Class and Perks
- Perk 1: Tracker or Battle Hardened
- Perk 2: Double Time
- Bonus Perk: Fast Hands
- Ultimate Perk: Ghost
- Lethal: Semtex
- Tactical: Stim
For Perks, there’s one given: Double Time. We want that longer sprint speed as this is a very aggressive rush build. For the other perk, you have some options. We’d recommend Battle Hardened for survivability or Tracker to hunt down enemies. Ghost is the perfect ultimate to stay hidden on radars and UAVs.
For equipment, the good old-fashioned Semtex and Stim combination works perfectly here. Lob some Semtex grenades and Stim up when things get hot, can’t go wrong there.
How to Unlock the VEL 46 in MW2
The VEL 46 is one of the first weapons you’ll unlock in Modern Warfare 2, and it is available as soon as you reach Level 4 in Multiplayer and unlock Custom Loadouts.
