Call of Duty Modern Warfare II 3rd Person Mode Changes

Hate playing an FPS? COD MWII will have a third-person mode.

With the upcoming release of the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on the horizon, players are looking towards the upcoming 3rd person perspective mode. In a game that has traditionally been a first-person shooter, the inclusion of the 3rd person mode has been a little bit polarizing to the community. However, this mode does come with its own special merits. With a recent post to Instagram from the official Call of Duty account, players were shown some of the upcoming changes they can expect to this new perspective in this fast-paced shooter. Here’s what we know about Call of Duty Modern Warfare II’s 3rd-person mode.

Gaining a New Perspective on the Battlefield

With the changes to 3rd-person perspective, players who use this mode will now be able to more accurately use the special hipfire and over-the-shoulder method of aiming. With a recent change, only 4x scopes or higher will force players into an ADS animation, causing them to be able to keep the flow of 3rd-person combat more consistent.

In addition to these changes to the aiming scheme, players can now switch their perspective over the opposite shoulder, enabling them to peek around corners much easier than before. This can lead to some interesting plays from players who are willing to sit around to get the jump on their opponents.

In addition to these changes, players can also increase their FOV (field-of-view) to get a much better visual of everything happening on the battlefield. This can help them improve their game sense and awareness by expanding their vision more than a traditional first-person perspective.

With all of these changes, players will be able to decide if they want to play in first-person perspective or with the newly designed 3rd person perspective. The ability to choose can help keep things interesting for players when the game releases later this month, on October 28, 2022.
