Activision has recently announced its upcoming Franchise Showcase Event for Call of Duty. The event, Call of Duty: Next, begins on September 15 and will showcase everything you need to know about the future of Call of Duty. Moreover, we also got some details about the upcoming Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Open Beta dates.
There will be two Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Open Beta weekends: the first of which is for PlayStation players, and the second of which is for all platforms (Xbox, PlayStation, and PC).
When does Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Open Beta Start?
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Open Beta begins on Friday, September 18 at 10 a.m. PT for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users only.
PlayStation Early Access for the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Open Beta begins on September 16 at 10 a.m. PT for those who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation 4 or 5.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Open Beta for all console platforms and PC begins on Thursday, September 22 at 10 a.m. PT and ends on Monday, September 26.
According to the official blog post from Activision:
“The Modern Warfare II Beta is set to feature a robust multiplayer experience going beyond the Core 6v6 experience with a variety of meticulously designed maps of various sizes, and an equally impressive set of Modes, Progression experiences, and other aspects that will be more thoroughly revealed at Call of Duty: Next. In addition, at Champs we revealed a flythrough of Marina Bay Grand Prix, where combat occurs within the main infield of an urban race circuit, one of the 6v6 Multiplayer maps confirmed for the Beta. With a number of in-game rewards available for simply playing the Beta (that are available at the launch of MWII if you own the game), and a host of other innovations and surprises, expect an unparalleled intel drop at the Next event.
In addition to a variety of in-game rewards, players who pre-ordered the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare II will be able to utilize the following rewards during the Beta:
- All four of the Red Team 141 Operators – Ghost, Farah, Price, and Soap – each wearing a special masked outfit.
- The FJX Cinder Weapon Vault.”
How to Get Early Access to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Open Beta
To get Early Access to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Open Beta, you’ll need to pre-order MWII. PC players can pre-purchase the game for PC via Blizzard Battle.net or Steam and can begin playing on Thursday, September 22 at 10 a.m. PT. Xbox and PlayStation players can pre-order the game by clicking on their platform on the official Call of Duty Modern Warfare II website. Xbox Live Gold is required for Xbox Players.
PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 owners can hop into battle on Open Beta Weekend 2, regardless of pre-ordering. Xbox and PC players can join in on the action on Saturday, September 24 at 10 a.m. PT regardless of pre-ordering.
